# Cursor

> Connect a Cursor Enterprise team with an Admin API key.

The Cursor connector links Velatir to your Cursor Enterprise team through Cursor's Admin API. You connect once, with an Admin API key. There is nothing to install and nothing for your users to do.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Cursor's Admin API is only available to **Cursor Enterprise** teams. A key from another plan is refused.

## What It Brings In

Today the connection is verified when you save it and re-checked every 15 minutes, so the **Cursor** card shows whether Velatir can reach your team. It does not bring in seats, usage, or sessions yet.

Cursor does not offer the text of prompts through any API. To see and check prompts sent in Cursor, turn on [AI tool coverage](https://docs.velatir.com/desktop-app/ai-tool-coverage.md) in Velatir for Desktop.

## Before You Start

**1. A Velatir Administrator**

Only an organisation **Administrator** can connect, reconnect, or disconnect. See [Roles & permissions](https://docs.velatir.com/platform/roles-and-permissions.md).

**2. A Cursor team admin**

An admin of your Cursor Enterprise team creates an **Admin API key** at [cursor.com/dashboard](https://cursor.com/dashboard), under **API Keys**.

## Connect Cursor

**1. Find Cursor in the Inventory**

In Velatir, open **Inventory** from the sidebar. If there is no **Cursor** card, select **Declare service(s)** and declare Cursor. The card then shows **Declared · not connected**.

**2. Start the connection**

Select **Connect** on the **Cursor** card.

**3. Name it and paste the key**

Give the connection a name and paste the Admin API key. Select **Connect**.

**4. Velatir checks the key**

Velatir asks Cursor for your team's member list. When that works, the key is saved and the card shows the connection. If Cursor refuses, the dialog says why, and nothing is saved.

The key is stored securely and never shown again, not even in part.

## Managing the Connection

> [accordion] Rotate the key
>
> Select **Reconnect** on the connection and paste a new Admin API key. The old key keeps working until the new one is verified.

> [accordion] Disconnect
>
> Select **Disconnect** on the **Cursor** card and confirm. Velatir deletes the key straight away. Delete the key in Cursor as well if you do not plan to reconnect.

> [accordion] Revoke the key in Cursor
>
> Deleting the key at cursor.com stops Velatir's access. Velatir checks its access every 15 minutes, so the connection shows **Action needed** within that time.

## Troubleshooting

> [accordion] Cursor did not accept this API key
>
> The key is mistyped, deleted, or not an Admin API key. Create an Admin API key at cursor.com/dashboard under **API Keys**, and paste that one.

> [accordion] Cursor accepted this key but refused the Admin API
>
> The key is valid, but your team is not on Cursor Enterprise. The Admin API is only available on Enterprise.
