# MCP Servers

> See which MCP servers are configured in the AI clients across your organisation

MCP servers give AI clients access to tools and data, such as a code repository, a ticketing system, or a database. The **MCP servers** section shows which servers are set up across your organisation, and in which AI clients.

## Where to find it

Open **Insights** and go to the **General** view. **MCP servers** sits below **Applications**.

| Column | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Server** | The package or remote address the server runs from |
| **Type** | **Local** if the AI client starts it on the device, **Remote** if it connects to a service over the network |
| **Configured in** | The AI clients the server is set up in |
| **Devices** | How many devices have it configured |
| **First seen** / **Last seen** | When Velatir first and most recently saw it |

The same server set up on many devices, or in several AI clients, shows as one row. A server that is removed from a device stops counting for that device after the next scan.

Like other insights, the section follows your organisation's [minimum group size](https://docs.velatir.com/security/data-privacy.md#minimum-group-size).

## Where the data comes from

[Velatir for Desktop](https://docs.velatir.com/desktop-app/mcp-servers.md) reads the MCP configuration of supported AI clients on each device. The section stays empty until devices with Velatir for Desktop have reported.
