# Getting Around the Dashboard

> The sidebar, breadcrumbs, search and the Peek: how to move around the Velatir dashboard.

## The Sidebar

The sidebar on the left lists the sections of the dashboard. Which sections you see depends on your role and access. See [Roles & permissions](https://docs.velatir.com/platform/roles-and-permissions.md).

| Section | What it holds | Pages |
| - | - | - |
| **Insights** | How your organisation uses AI. See [Insights](https://docs.velatir.com/insights/overview.md). | General, Workspaces, AI Literacy |
| **Agents** | Your Gatekeepers, Data Protectors and Coaches, and their assessments. See [Agents](https://docs.velatir.com/agents/understanding-agents.md). | Overview, Assessments |
| **Sessions** | AI activity, session by session. See [Sessions](https://docs.velatir.com/traces/understanding-sessions.md). | |
| **Reports** | Documents built from your activity, on demand or on a schedule. Administrators only. See [Reports](https://docs.velatir.com/reports/overview.md). | Templates, Schedule, History |
| **Workspaces** | Your organisation's structure. See [Organisations & workspaces](https://docs.velatir.com/platform/organizations-and-workspaces.md). | |
| **Inventory** | The AI services your organisation has declared. See [Inventory](https://docs.velatir.com/inventory/overview.md). | |
| **Setup** | Rolling out the browser extension and the desktop app. | |
| **Settings** | Organisation settings. See [Settings](https://docs.velatir.com/platform/settings.md). | General, Browser extension, Members, Subscription, Channels, API keys, Data exports, Support |

A section with pages lists them beneath it in the sidebar. Select the section to open its first page, or select a page directly. The chevron next to the section shows or hides its pages.

Below the sections:

* **Notifications** opens your notifications. A count shows how many are unread.
* **What's new** opens the release notes, with a count of the updates you have not read.
* **Service catalogue** opens the catalogue of AI services Velatir knows. See [Service catalogue](https://docs.velatir.com/insights/service-catalog.md).
* During a trial, the sidebar shows how many days are left.

At the bottom of the sidebar, select your organisation's name to open the user menu. From there you switch between your organisations, create a new one, open your account, turn **Dark mode** on or off, choose your **Language**, and sign out.

## Breadcrumbs

Every page opens with a trail in its header that shows where the page sits: the section, then the page, then the item you have open. Select a crumb to go up to it.

To return to where you came from, use your browser's Back button. The dashboard has no Back control of its own.

## Search

Select **Search** at the top of the sidebar, or press **⌘ K** on a Mac and **Ctrl K** elsewhere. Type to find:

* **Pages**: every section and page in the sidebar.
* **Agents**: your Gatekeepers, Data Protectors and Coaches.
* **Applications**: the AI services declared in your inventory. This is not the **Applications** section in Insights, which lists applications detected by the desktop app.
* **Workspaces**: the groups of members in your organisation.
* **Reports**: report templates and schedules.

What you opened last is listed under **Recent**, separately for each organisation. Press **Enter** to open the highlighted result and **Esc** to close.

## The Peek

Wherever a service is named, in Sessions, Insights or elsewhere, rest the pointer on its name or select it to open its **Peek**: a small card about that service that keeps you on the page you are on.

The Peek shows:

* Whether the service is **Declared** or **Not declared · Shadow AI**.
* Its **Interactions**, **People** and **Workspaces** for the period of the page you are on, and the latest sessions that used it. **All sessions** opens every session for the service with the same period and filters.
* **Declare service** or **Undeclare**, if you have permission to manage the inventory.
* **Open in Inventory** and **Open in Service catalogue**, which take you to the service's own pages.
