What Are Channels?

Channels are the communication platforms where your team reviews and approves review tasks. Instead of forcing teams to check another dashboard, Velatir brings approvals directly into the tools you already use. When a workflow’s human intervention node creates a review task, notifications are sent to the configured channels.

Available Channels

Channel Selection

Different channels work better for different scenarios:

Slack - Best for:

  • Real-time collaboration - Team discussions about traces
  • Quick decisions - Simple approve/decline workflows
  • Contextual approvals - Tasks related to ongoing conversations
  • Developer teams - Technical teams already using Slack

Microsoft Teams - Best for:

  • Enterprise environments - Organizations standardized on Microsoft
  • Structured workflows - Formal approval processes
  • Integration with Office 365 - Seamless Microsoft ecosystem
  • Compliance-heavy industries - Industries requiring detailed audit trails

Email - Best for:

  • Executive approvals - High-level stakeholders who prefer email
  • Asynchronous decisions - Teams across different time zones
  • External reviewers - People outside your main communication platforms
  • Digest-style reviews - Batch processing multiple tasks

Web Dashboard - Best for:

  • Detailed analysis - Complex traces requiring full context
  • Bulk operations - Processing multiple tasks at once
  • Reporting and analytics - Understanding approval patterns
  • Administrative tasks - Managing policies, workflows, and settings

Multi-Channel Workflows

You can configure human intervention nodes to send notifications to multiple channels simultaneously. Different workflows can route to different channels based on the type of trace or policy result.
