What Is AI Literacy?

AI Literacy is a view in Insights that shows how well AI is being used, not only how much. It is produced by the Coach agent: grades and activity appear once Coach is assigned and people start seeing its messages. Open Insights and switch to the AI Literacy tab.
AI Literacy requires Coach and version 1.9.0 or later of the Velatir browser extension.

The Grade

Each period you get a single A–D rating for the organisation (or the slice you have filtered to). The grade combines two scores:
  • Behaviour (60%). How cleanly AI is used, as a rate, so volume alone does not pull it down. It dips when violations or escalations rise (escalations count double) and recovers as clean usage builds up.
  • Acknowledgement (40%). The share of Coach messages that required acknowledgement and were acknowledged. Only service introductions can require acknowledgement, and only when you turn that on. Welcome messages and repeat reminders never count here.
Bands: A ≥ 85, B ≥ 70, C ≥ 50, D below 50.

Activities

Violations, escalations, and acknowledgements — the signals behind the grade.

Per-device table

Engagement broken down by device. Each device is identified anonymously, so you see activity without tracking who is behind it.
The same time range, origin, and team filters as the rest of Insights apply here.

Reading Acknowledgements

Coach records two different things, and the table keeps them apart:
  • Acknowledgements are deliberate confirmations of a required service introduction.
  • Delivered means an informational message was shown (welcome or reminder). That is a delivery receipt, not evidence that someone read it.
If you have not turned on “require acknowledgement”, the acknowledgement rate shows as not applicable rather than 0%. A zero would wrongly look like people are ignoring Coach.
